A Night for daraja
UPDATE: We were able to raise over $1000 for the CHWs, and they just bought a water tank that will sit right outside the gates of the Tom Mboya Hospital and serve thousands of people! Thank you to everyone who showed up to the concert and supported us in other ways!
Jam for Justice is teaming up with Daraja McGill to give you a night of great music February 11th! The proceeds are going towards the Community Health Workers (CHWs) of Rusinga Island, Mbita, Kenya who are working to build a drinking water supply and a new public toilet facility for 2000 villagers surrounding the Tom Mboya Hospital. In doing so, the CHWs hope to actively prevent common diseases such as cholera and diarrhea, instead of waiting to treat people when sick. Daraja's supporting funds will be used to construct a new unisex accessible public toilet and change room facility, as well as a drinking water supply for the surrounding villagers. |
All tickets will be available from the musicians/Daraja/online for $10 (https://www.facebook.com/Daraja-246913015353505/?fref=ts) or $12 at the door
